Lecture: The Technology of ‘Le nozze di Figaro’ by Mark Schubin

Festival fans know that we present an assortment of lectures and workshops each season that provide music analysis, historical background, and even “what if?” thought experiments pertaining to our opera and musical.

Mark Schubin’s lecture on June 15th falls into that last category – what stage and home-media technologies were available when The Marriage of Figaro was performed in 1786, and might then-new technologies have affected the plot if it were written just a few years later?

Mark Schubin is an Emmy award-winning opera media engineer and historian who is the Engineer-in-Charge of the Metropolitan Opera’s media department. You can watch his lecture here:
