Joseph Flummerfelt: In Memoriam
We are saddened by the recent passing of Joseph Flummerfelt, world-renowned choral conductor, esteemed teacher at the Westminster Choir College, and long-time friend of The Princeton Festival, serving on our Advisory Council since its inception.
Flummerfelt was a masterful choral conductor whose contributions to American classical music will not be soon forgotten. He played key roles with the New York Philharmonic, the New York Choral Artists, and both the Spoleto Music Festival U.S.A. and the Festival dei Due Mondi in Soleto, Italy.
Flummerfelt will be remembered here for his position at Westminster Choir College, as a beloved teacher of so many singers and conductors. Westminster has been an invaluable resource of talent for our annual opera chorus, Baroque chorus and musical production, and Flummerfelt himself served on our advisory council.
Joseph Flummerfelt will be missed in music. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this time, in remembrance.
