Art and death are at the core of the film Quartet, with the central message revolving around the need to have a creative outlet. Living without a creative outlet is tantamount to dying, both literally and metaphorically. Tosca’s Kiss also takes up these themes in an Italian setting.
Many films use both opera singers and operas as background and presentation of important topics. The panelists will discuss Quartet and its relevance to other films which treat these topics.
